Monochromatic

March 8, 2013

We just love to follow latest fashion trends. Some stay while some are lost in oblivion. One such hottest trend that has gripped the fashion world is the ‘monochrome’ style. Monochrome is basically combination of black and white. The blend of two classic colours is indeed classy. Not only celebrities flaunt it but even homes are designed with the monochrome theme.

You might think this is same old thing but the styling, pattern and the cut makes the difference.

Here we bring to you a variety of monochromatic looks that we spotted on celebrities.

Kareena Kapoor recently sported this amazing dress by designer Kallol Datta. The abstract black and white print along with a structured cut made it really look striking. The bold eye liner, black stash, leggings and high heels completed her unique look. We think she pulled off the monochrome look glamorously.

Zarine Khan wore this black n white jumpsuit for an event. She kept it simple and still looked very classy. The belt and clutch matched her outfit well. We see a hint of red nailpolish on her feet to add colour to the monochromatic look.

Accessories are definitely not left behind when it comes to this trend. Monochromatic bags look classy and versatile. Pair it with a red dress or a corporate look for making a fashion statement of your own.

We all just love her, don’t we? Penelope Cruz paired a vintage inspired monochrome blouse with fitted black pants. Her high heels and voluminous hair looked amazing with her simple look.

Sonakshi Sinha is known for her Indian avatars in her films. Here she paired the monochrome trend with Indian motifs beautifully. The full-sleeved anarkali suit, side braid and minimal jewellery just looked great on her.

Kristen Stewart and Kate Hudson flaunted their own interpretations. Kate went for a structured white suit with black inners, gold accessories and pulled-back hair while Kristen went for a plain yet sexy top, high-waist black trousers and a bright red lipstick. Both these looks were indeed stylish.

A pair of palazzo pants and a fitted black vest gets a definite nod from us. Pair it with a red belt or any accessory in red to add that pop of colour. A pair of chic heels should complete your look.

We definitely saw sightings of this trend on the ramp. Major fashion houses showcased their designs in dresses, gowns, footwear, jackets and accessories. From the looks of it, we just love what we see.

A monochrome clutch is a must in every wardrobe. The versatile style matches most of your outfits perfectly, be it in any colour.

These two traditional colours are there in every wardrobe. Just go crazy and experiment with this fashion trend. Watch this space for more on fashion and style tips.
