It is easy to say that all you have to do is resist it, but it is more difficult to do when the junk food is with in arms reach at all times. Creating this extra step will help you fight off your cravings. It will give you more time to think about whether or not you really need to eat those extra calories or if you can get by without them.

More times than not, creating this barrier between you and the junk food will improve the likelihood that you change your mind and decide to go without it. Removing the junk food from your home is one of the easiest ways in which you can begin losing weight.

Counting calories

Checking your calorie intake is a good way to remind yourself what you are putting into your body. You don’t even have to diet to see results with this. If you simply force yourself to track all of the foods that you put into your body and count the calories that you are consuming, it will help you become aware of what is going in and it will make it easy to find ways in which you can dramatically decrease your calorie intake. For example, you may not see anything wrong with a cheeseburger for lunch, but once you see that it is 500 cal, it becomes easier to replace the cheeseburger with a 250 calorie bowl of oatmeal.

By counting calories, you can start to identify areas in which you can stay healthy without going hungry. Eliminating the fatty and greasy foods allows you to replace it with a larger quantity of or healthy foods. Not only will you be healthier, but you also feel fuller.

Substituting for high calorie foods

Another thing that you can do is replace the high calorie foods with low or zero calorie substitutes. Water in place of soda is something that many people do. Sweeteners are also something that a lot of people will turn to. Instead of using sugar, people will use 0 cal sweeteners to keep the taste up at the calorie count down.
