Story of Tulsi Vivah Vrat

According to old story of “Tulsi Vivah” a very beautiful girl was born in the demon clan. Which was named Vrinda. Vrinda worshiped lord Vishnu since childhood and was also a great devotee. As soon as she grows up, she got married to jalandhar, an asura. Jalandhar gained even more powers due to his marriage with vrinda. Jalandhar had become so powerful because of vrinda’s devotion that he started torturing not only humans and gods but also demons. He had become so power that no one was able to beat him. All the gods and goddesses went to the shelter of lord Vishnu to solve this problem and started asking for help. Lord Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar to destroy the gods from this problem and destroyed vrinda’s marriage purity. Due to which the powers of jalandhar were reduced and he was killed in the war. After which Vrinda cursed them to become stoned due to this trick of lord Vishnu. After which all the gods and goddesses urged vrinda to withdraw his curse but consumed himself it tulsi and also said that along with my worship, tulsi will also be worshiped till the end of the earth.
