Top Designers at the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021

November 24, 2012

The New York City Fashion Week for Spring and Summer 2021 featured top designers whose collections combined the old and new designs that basically make up the fashion trend for next year. The following are the designers that were a big part of the successful New York Fashion Week 2021. Their collections evidently represented the fashion and style that are in store for next year’s spring and summer seasons.

In the Proenza Schouler collection, one of the dresses that literally translated the cool and watery spring trend was the one designed by Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. The two created a piece with a photographic image print of a huge crowd enjoying the cool waters of the pool. While onlookers can easily adjudge the image to be sharp and vivid at short range, the model presented it as almost like an abstract as she strut it down the runway.

Designing fluid gowns with a concept similar to that of Hernandez and McCollough’s dress, Ronson’s collection was created with the water of springtime as her main inspiration. A hit among her spring collection was her dress of bold green and blue hues and peplum that closely mimicked the ocean waves.

When it comes to Kors’ own work for the NY spring fashion week, everybody thought that it was the springiest of them all. One even commented that his dresses almost smelled of pool chlorine. A highlight of his collection was the matching blue top and pants that made everyone at the show wanting to dive into its inviting swimming pool print.

A revelation at the New York Fashion Week was Tracy Reese with her vibrant collection of spring season-appropriate dresses. One possessed such clear and bold hues that balanced its loose silhouette perfectly. It was a maxi dress that made a huge impact at the fashion event.

Donna Karan

A clear hit among the collection of Donna Karan was the dress that had a sea-form draping, a feature that perfectly allowed it to have fluidity like that of water. Not a few commented that every piece in Karan’s NY Fashion Week presentation made them feel that they were being led to enjoy the great expanse of the ocean.

Another admirable creation of Karan was a grayish, laser-cut dress with a design that offered the illusion of streams, with a bank of pearls that moved across the body of the model.

Finally, a fashion week is not complete without the collection of Marc Jacobs that presented a fashion trend of black-and-white medium-width stripes. His stripe designs are already a classic. However, Jacobs added a twist by incorporating gold in a few of his dresses. One piece was made of multiple rows of sparkly sequins that exuded a weighty look. Clearly, this piece was a heavyweight in style as well.
