Bollywood’s Worst Dressed Stars That Desperately Need Stylists

Just like their Hollywood counterparts, the stars of Bollywood sometimes show off their fashion faux pas on the red carpet. While many stars know what it takes to act their parts on screen, many reveal a decided lack of fashion sense when it comes to looking good off the screen. With nearly as many fashion misses as hits, the following stars could use some fashion tips from stylists who make it their business to keep celebrities looking good when the cameras are present.  Here’s our list of stars who bombed Celebrity Fashion 101:

Aishwarya Rai
With her smoldering eyes, it’s a wonder anyone notices what she’s wearing, but some of Rai’s ensembles have detracted attention from her beauty to reveal her roller coaster style that regularly hits both highs and lows. Her 2003 hot pink stringy number had critics comparing her to a travel advertisement for Indian vacations.  During this same Cannes Film Festival, Rai was hard to miss in a lime green sari that imparted all the style of a neon sign.  In 2004, the revealing white dress she wore to the opening ceremony dinner looked more fit for the adult film awards gala as was the midriff lace she wore to Cannes in 2005.  Rai’s repeated misses do, however, keep people wondering what she’ll wear next!

Arguably one of the worst-dressed stars of the Bollywood scene, Sherawat and the infamous black—to call it a dress is stretching it—article she wore to the Inglourious Basterds premiere caused jaws to drop—and not in a good way.  Clearly Sherawat likes to reveal her sexy curves, but she is just a few threads and jangles away from sporting a belly dancer costume more fit for a lounge than a swanky red carpet event.  In fairness to Sherawat, she has the courage to flaunt her stuff as outrageously as she pleases.

This film actress and model is no stranger to poor fashion reviews.  Cameras love to shoot her in patterns that most others wouldn’t even use to adorn their tables.  She loves to sport necklines that plunge well past the point of her cleavage; at the same time, she’ll opt for a bared midriff.  It might not be classy, but it’s definitely sassy.

Although her fans adore her no matter what she wears, Kajol’s singular sense of fashion is usually not considered her strong suit.  Whether clad in garish stripes or ultra-traditional garb, Kajol might be in need of a serious fashion makeover.  Nevertheless, it’s always a pleasure to see what she’ll pull out of her closet next!

Ameesha Patel
A famous beauty, Ameesha Patel is also famous for her myriad of style blunders.  Her strange bright turquoise sari that featured a bikini top better suited for a Disneyland vacation is certainly a highlight among her repertoire of disasters, but other sari ensembles might better be described as negligee-wannabes.  Skimpy threads and plenty of skin keep this style culprit continually wanted by the fashion police.

Known for her sultry allure, Godse is, unfortunately, not revered for her fashion know-how.  From tanks with furry vests to silver and white dresses clearly obtained from the set of Star Wars, Godse could use a fashion upgrade to match her beauty.  Her skimpy bikini tops with ultra short fringed skirts might be tough for her to discard given her penchant for them, but losing them would do her a world of good.

There’s no dissing or denying the innate beauty of Bollywood’s stars, but there’s also no getting around their various fashion emergencies. Either Bollywood has a serious shortage of stylists, or these divas just don’t care what kind of publicity they achieve for their head-turning duds.
